I just read this article about telling stories (I never said that everything i read on the web was riveting).
Points four and five jumped out at me. Especially the application for the later.
Tell stories at the start of meetings, not just give updates.
I think the staff meetings at most businesses and churches would be far better off if they began with a story that detailed person who represented a win for each.

While there are a lot of people yet to hear the gospel, the one's who have heard it are now looking for application.
I am 54, born a Christian and lived a Christian. Everyday I am looking for reality.
I enjoy sermons where my pastor says "today's sermon is on 'forgiveness' . Its not a comfortable topic, because I struggle with it".
He then goes on to talk about it. I relish it because he tells the truth as Christ taught, but makes me feel like he is struggling like me.
